Detroit
Detroit serves as a stark reminder of how the greed of a few can impact the lives of many. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the city has become a shadow of its once industrious self. The neglect and decay of Detroit’s urban infrastructure have attracted artists and skaters who transform forgotten spaces in creative ways. It is a great city to wander, skate and create. In July 2019, a few of us visited to skate, shoot photos, and sketch. I created a small print run of books from this trip with Birling, with help from my friends Tom and Julian.
