Sloppy Sam, an East Coast skater, transformed skatepark construction in and around Hartford in the 2000s. With a fresh outlook and a shoestring budget, he created numerous parks using found obstacles and the existing terrain. These parks still meet today's standards and are considered some of the best. We toured the Northeast region around Hartford, skating both street spots and his parks. When skaters learned to build skateparks, that's when the best skateparks started coming in.
